Facilities available in the Department

Material characterization facilities: Keithley system DMM, Differential Scanning Calorimeter (Shimadzu), Thermo Mechanical Analyser (Shimadzu), UV-Visible NIR Spectrophotometer (Shimadzu), Electrometers (Keithley), Metallurgical Microscope with CCD Camera (Kocom), Bruker D8 advance powder X-Ray Diffractometer with temperature attachment, Atomic Force Microscope (Nanosurf), Electrochemical workstation (C-H Instruments), Universal testing machine (ASI India), Fungilab Viscometer, Hall effect set up, Photoluminescence spectrometer etc.

The material fabrication facilities: Thin Film Coating Units with Electron beam evaporation and Sputtering facility, Spray pyrolysis unit, Muffle furnace, Electrospinning equipment, Tubular furnace, Polymer press, UV chamber, Spin coater, Centrifugating chamber, Compression moulding machine, Polymer extruder, Heat press machine etc., are installed for macro to nano level synthesis. The department was also funded with a VGST-sponsored research lab.
